LittleIpsum App Reviews

Love this little app, here’s a trick if it’s crashing on you in OS X 10.9

From the Developer, Dustin Senos: if you right-click on LittleIpsum > Get Info > Open in 32-bit. It will continue to work on Mavericks. Thanks Dustin!

Great…until Mavericks.

The upgrade to Mavericks caused LittleIpsum to die a tragic death. An ode to its existance still resides in my menu bar, but clicking it just brings back the pain as it disappears before my eyes. :( Please get the Mavericks issue corrected so I can move back into the land of bliss, where a developer need not open a browser to get some decent Lorem Ipsum.

Crashes upon accessing menu

Looks like a nice app but, unfortunately, it crashes upon accessing the menu on Mavericks. Dunno what’s up. Will wait for an update. :)

Huge time saver!

I’m all about productivity and my work process and this simple tool is probably one of my favorite. I appreciated it from the the jump but realized how much I missed it when I upgraded to Mavericks and found that it no longer worked. Fortunately, the latest update fixed that!

Incompatible with Mavericks

Yea! LittleIpsum is now compatible with Mavericks. You learn how valuable an app is when you can’t use it. LittleIpsum was the best app I never paid for — so convenient and a huge time saver.

Doesn’t work in Mavericks

Hate to give it one star, as it’s Apple’s fault, but it failed to launch after downloading.

Wonderfullly hepful. Glad to see it working with Mavericks

This utility is one of my favorites. My design software has a pitiful offering for filler text so this utility really comes in handy. Visit the dev site and make a donation if you really appreciate it!

Really helpful tool for designers.

It’s really helpful tool that every designer must have in toolbox.

Every designer needs this

This is one of those apps that you don’t realize you need until the first time you use it. Then you feel like an idiot for not already having it. Great work, Dustin!

Such a handy app. Now compatible with Mavericks and rMBP!

I use this dozens of times per day. It’s one of the best utilities in my whole toolbox. Really great A+++

Must have App for every UI Designer

Nothing can be more useful than Applications that dont need much explanation, and just make your life more simple and work flows fast and easy.

Needs keyboard shortcuts

I love this app. What would make this a 6 star rating (no joke) is it could use a keyboard shortcut to open the panel and/or keyboard shortcuts for the word amount.

100% Invaluable!

Such a time-saver, and such a useful little app. Fantastic! Everyone who works with type needs this NOW.

Quick and Easy

This new version seems to have addressed the issues brought up in previous reviews. It’s quick and easy to select how long you want your text to be, and drastically reduces how much time I spend grabbing Lorum Ipsum text to my clipboard.

Essential!

One of the best apps for a computer and a designer’s workflow. So helpful and useful. Highly recommend!

Great, but needs menu bar update for Yosemite.

5 star app. Works exactly as expected. The icon needs an update for the dark menu bar in Yosemite.

Clean, simple, functional

It does only a little but it does it perfectly well.

Great App, Great UI/UX

I love this app. I’m a 15-year developer and the ability to quickly grab made-up words, sentences or paragraphs is invaluable. The reviewers who complain about the UI/UX are insane. It’s perfect. For what this app does it could not be any quicker or easier. But maybe the other reviewers are right. Maybe instead of a two-click system there should be multiple checkboxes, panels and other inconsistent UI junk...

“anonymous” usage data

I used to really like this application and used it often. But the decision to add “anonymous” usage metrics collection without any way to disable it and without telling users what data is being collected and sent back to the developer is very disturbing. I will be removing littleipsum from my system.

Please make data collection optional.

Please add a way to disable this recent addition of data collection.
